A Beautiful Tree ~ Japanese Maple! Reddish Leaves! ~~~Nancy

A Note To Say Hi! ~~~Nancy

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's ... Tuesday evening. Been working all day - now I'm editing my Moment's Video Day Ten. My laptop is on my lap and I'm working in my red 'easy chair'. It's a Lazyboy recliner chair - isn't very comfortable when you're using a laptop, it's not meant for that.

When I don't get videos up to my YouTube channel - I feel disconnected from everyone at YouTube and at Google Plus. So I thought that I'd send up a Blogger post really quickly.

Isn't this tree gorgeous! A Japanese Maple! ~~~Nancy P.S. I'll talk more about that picture another day - it was from my most recent vacation!

In this coming Moment's Vlog I begin for the first time - talking about Sara. Actually I believe I've posted a Blogger post on Sara, yes - I remember posting the pictures. It is still not easy to talk about Sara. Not without losing it. I loved my Sara - our Golden Retreiver and Collie mix my baby girl.

We lost Sara last March 2015. It was the most difficult day in a very long time.

Well, I'm here to say hello - and to tell each of you to have a good evening - or morning - where ever you are in your day! Blessings to you all!

What Are "Miscellaneous Monday's" On ~~~Nancy Gurish's YouTube Channel?

Your Health And Tech Friend Magazine

Hi everyone~

Well it's another fine Monday Morning! ~Cough, cough, cough~~~ Is there such a thing?
Not long ago I initiated another Playlist on my YouTube channel, and titled it: "Miscellaneous Monday". Hereafter referred to as M.M.

This playlist will serve two purposes, 1) it gives me another reason to post a video, a commitment to post and 2) it provides a platform for me to post another video!

M.M. videos will be on absolutely ANY topic that comes up.

Sunday Supplement is another playlist of mine that serves exactly the same purpose as Miscellaneous Monday!

A playlist that I've got, titled: "Fun Friday Night Videos" is a horse of another color.

Fun Friday Night Videos is for what it says - Fun Friday Night Videos!

In order to understand what Fun Friday

is!

you just have to check it out!

If no one else has fun on my Fun Friday Videos - at least I have fun!

This playlist is called

Fun And Etc.! [In this video I'm getting makeup done at a Makeup counter! And trying on hats!]
~~~Nancy P.S. Not to be confused with Fun Fridays!
It's like the adage - "Try and please everyone and no one is pleased, try and please yourself and
at least you are pleased. So...
On Fun Friday days - I tell jokes until I have a good - really good laugh!
If there is a goal with my Fun Friday's it is that I tell jokes until there is something really funny to laugh about!
That seems like a pretty good goal to me!
I hope you laugh really good one time too!
Another Late Night Monday! ~~~Nancy
Another Monday night! ~~~Nancy
It's a Monday night, in June (eastern time, United States), 11:02 p.m. and I'm sitting in my chair. My red upholstered 'official' Lazy Boy brand recliner chair. It's that old fashioned 'rough' material with a leaf pattern etched into the fabric. It's sort of an 'over-stuffed' style of chair. My laptop is on my lap, of course and I am typing on an open 'notepad plus plus' page. That is the name of this notepad program. The house is quiet as I am the only one awake. Outside of some city traffic noises, the only sound is the air conditioning coming out of the registers. It is time to wind down but I'm not, because I'm typing this page. This page is for my blog and I will probably post it tonight, which will take probably most of an hour, from writing to posting. Longer than I'd like to stay up. But that is my life at this time.
My blog has no specific theme, it is a blog that I write pages for in a very sporadic fashion. And I write about anything that comes to mind at any particular day. My name is ~~~Nancy Gurish. And I sign my name with '~~~' before it because one day after working in an on-line business for several years, I believe it was after my YouTube Channel had begun, I signed my name and thought "how will anyone know it's always me when they see my name? So the 'tildes', i.e. (~~~) just came to me as a signature style, and I've used it ever since. I've got another part of a story on that 'signature' thing that I will write about some day.
In an on-line business with a blog, the 'blogger' can use analytics in order to see who their audience is; i.e, who you are. However at this time in my business, in my work; although I could figure out who my audience is, I don't have the opportunity to look into that very much at all. There are so many details and jobs to do when working in a business on-line. A person, like me, who works alone needs to pick and choose which 'hat' to wear at any one time. Analytics, although very important may be something I will pick up down the road. Until then, I don't know who you are, or even if you are there, in fact? At one point I saw the numbers for how many visits to my blog, but I've not gotten back to that area of statistical input. So, in fact, I don't really know if anyone is reading my blog. It's not a consistent posting thought, so nobody can rely on any sort of regularity. And, no one has posted a comment. One day it will be fun to see a comment.
Goodnight for now! ~~~Nancy
I don't really care for the word 'blog', I would have preferred another name for this media. It reminds me of a word like, 'burp', or ... I suppose it's just late and I should get to sleep. Goodnight!
Writing First Thing In The A.M. | Before Prayer Is Dangerous! ~~~Nancy
~~~Nancy Koncilja Gurish

nancy gurish picture

Oh my!

Writing to the 'world' with just one sip of coffee under my belt. This has always been a dangerous proposition with me.
 ... 5 sips ...
Okay, better. First thing upon awakening I have a lot of ideas of things to speak about in videos; or to write about on a blog post or web page, but most of the time I get to my prayers first. I've said the 'important' prayers, I pray on my knees and ask God's help for certain things each morning without fail. And, then I follow this up with prayer, in my comfortable chair with my rosary and my rosary meditations book. In that way I educate myself. Learning and wisdom comes from prayer. I've experienced this, answers to prayer, and help from God for many things, for many years. However only recently have I seen it written that prayer is for answers. Prayer is for many things, no doubt, but I tend to get answers from my prayers.

Writing in the morning has been dangerous,

just as talking to someone on the phone, first thing - before prayer, is a dangerous thing. Lord knows pun intended, what will come out of my mouth before a good, sitting with God time. There had been at least two times that I've picked up the phone and actually called my councilman first thing in the morning, to complain about something, without talking with someone, or God, about it first. Those weren't fun times! So, why am I writing today, this morning, before prayers? I'll get to that in another blog post. For now, for this morning, this is what I needed to do. I needed to sit here with my laptop in lap, white sheet of paper before my eyes on the screen, and keys beneath my fingers. This was nice sharing coffee with you.

And to you I say, please have a good day. Try prayer if you haven't. It works. It really works. It changes lives.

Reese Howells | Holy Spirit Possession | Answers To Life's Questions ~~~Nancy

"When the Holy Ghost asked Rees Howell for his body. He made it plain to him that if he submitted, his whole life would be given for the souls of men and the furtherance of God's kingdom. This was the life he would begin living if he agreed to let the Holy Spirit come in ... Everything in his life would have to be made subject to these goals."

... see this below ...

~~~ "This time in my life I am understanding the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I can tell you that I am receiving some of the parts of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and it is really something else. You wouldn't believe it if you haven't experienced it. I've found that the answers that I am receiving come from 'abiding' in Christ, I'm not certain of what the term to 'abide in Christ' means, however I'll be looking for the definition of this."  ... read more below ...
Rees Howells | Holy Spirit Possession
~~~ On this page are pieces of the story of a man named Rees Howells who gave his entire life to the Holy Spirit in submission for some great gifts, of which we have greatly benefited! ~~~Nancy Gurish

~~~ Hi!This is me! ~~~Nancy! I've been praying for 26 years in a steady, everyday fashion. My prayers have matured and expanded especially in the past two years. The Rosary has been added to my routine and this has begun to teach me more about the life of Jesus and has been bringing the Bible to life for me. In September of 2014 I attended a 'Life in the Spirit' retreat which was a prayer session lasting for seven weeks. In the 1970's I attended a Life In The Spirit retreat (in house) at the old, now gone, St. Joseph Christian Life Center, in Cleveland Ohio. This time in my life I am understanding the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I can tell you that I am receiving some of the parts of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and it is really something else. You wouldn't believe it if you haven't experienced it. I've found that the answers that I am receiving come from 'abiding'.
[What does abiding in Christ mean?]
One source says:
One of Jesus’ most vivid and powerful illustrations for the believer’s relationship with him is the vine and branches. Just as branches can only bear fruit if they abide in the vine, so the only way believers can glorify the Father through fruitful lives is by abiding in Jesus. The teaching is found in John 15, where Jesus prepares his disciples for his imminent death and departure, by instructing them about their calling and mission as his disciples, and emphasizing their absolute dependence on him.
As Jesus says in verse 5,"] receiving answers.
~~~Ah ha! Answers! I knew it! I knew it! Answers! ~~~Nancy

Lately it has come again to my attention, that one purpose of prayer is to receive answers. That is what I've most gotten from my prayers in the past 26 years.

Answers. Answers to life's situations and to the difficulties that confront me in my life.

This is one of the greatest gifts of my prayers - answers. There are a certain number of 'official gifts' of the Holy Spirit. I'm not certain if 'answer' is one of the gifts; I don't believe it is. But, it is among my greatest claims to prayer. Answers. I'm not yet interested in the 'Full Holy Spirit Possession' made by the man Rees Howells to which this page is dedicated. He gave over his entire life to the Holy Spirit; to be used for great things. I'm not in that ballpark, but now and then - through my web pages and videos: I'll give you what I've gotten from prayer. God Bless you all! ~~~Nancy

What are the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit?

"When the Holy Ghost asked Rees Howell for his body. He made it plain to him that if he submitted, his whole life would be given for the souls of men and the furtherance of God's kingdom. This was the life he would begin living if he agreed to let the Holy Spirit come in ... Everything in his life would have to be made subject to these goals."

BOOK REVIEW: Holy Spirit Possession - by Sanda Cooper by Florence Udell "I first read Holy Spirit Possession by Florence Udell when I was wrestling with a choice God had presented to me. I had a decision to make, a serious one, and this book helped me make the right one. Since then He has presented plenty more, as He does with all of us, and the principles in this book have greatly enlightened me about God's dealing with us, and our response back. For Mrs. Udell probes to the depths the meaning of "Not my will, but Thy will be done," and "... present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God."

~~~ Hi. It's been several months that I've been reading from one of the books about a man named Rees Howells. This book is called "Holy Spirit Possession The Ultimate Place in Christ, by Florence Udell. This book had become a part of my morning meditations along with my Rosary and my booklet, "Rosary Meditations from Mother Teresa of Calcutta" by Fr. Martin Lucia, SS.CC. Boy I have been learning a lot. Most of what I learn is reassuring and spiritually educational but some of the story of the Holy Spirit Possession book, the story of Rees Howells' life, has been to me a scary proposition.
~~~ Searching online for more about Rees Howells I found some videos and a biography of Rees Howells on Wikipedia. The short story of Reese's life is that he was "called to a life of faith." From my book I had read that this man offered his life to the Holy Spirit for full possession, and that meant leaving behind many things of the world, and going forward in full and complete faith that the Holy Spirit would provide and make right each and every sacrifice that Rees left behind. Full control over his money was part of this 'tilling' that the Holy Spirit performed in his life. Rees found time and again that the money needed for his work was provide for by the Holy Spirit. The ultimate sacrifice, it seemed to me as well as to Rees, and no doubt to his wife, was to leave his son behind, I believe in Wales; while Rees and his wife travelled to Africa to carry on the work of the Holy Spirit in that country. This was a permanent move and the son Samuel Howells was left to be raised by an aunt.

~~~ An excerpt from Florence Udell's book: "Rees thought, "Does He really mean it?" [Jesus had said, "He who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." | "You must prove to me that you love the souls of the Africans, who are to live for eternity, more than you love your own son."] {I'll interject here, that you must read this full book, in order to get the full meaning of this statement! There is a lot to this Holy Spirit Possession; Rees offered his whole self to be fully possessed. This is not something you would try at home on your own!} This is just a part of the story within Mrs. Udell's book. "They learned that day that Africa was going to cost them something. And they were glad they only had to go through this test once in a lifetime."
Once the Holy Spirit took possession of him in 1906, Rees Howells, a Welsh miner, was led deeply into a ministry of intercession for many situations including healing, conversions and to challenge death at home and abroad on the mission field.
As the story progresses, "Rees found that the daily path he was called to follow was truly the way of the cross. Every self-centered thought was dealt with at once by the Holy Spirit." Another surrender that happened to Rees many time, "As you read the life story of Rees ... you will notice that the Holy Spirit's dealings with him frequently touched the surrender of his money." "... the words of the apostle Paul: "For the love of money is the root of all evil" (I Timothy 6:10)." "... it is the "love" of money which is the root of all evil." Florence said, "People emphasize the word "love" in this verse .. it is my experience that wherever money is involved, the love for it is also involved." This was good for me to see for understanding of this biblical reference to Paul's words. Another thing that helped me in the concept of letting go of control of money, for me was this: "You can't have false pride and give away your money. You can't have greed and part with your money. You can't have ambition of your own and part with you money. You can't have malice against anyone you willingly help with your money". ~~~ This made me see clearly the value of being willing to part with money, i.e. giving to charity or the needy.
"He and his wife were later missionaries in Africa. He was led down the path of intercession for many years, before seeing Revival across Southern Africa from 1915-1920. The rise of Adolf Hitler and the outbreak of World War II also marked a period of strong activity in Howells' ministry of intercession.
They had only one child, a son, named Samuel Rees Howells, who later became the Director of the Bible College of Wales.
In 1924 he founded the Bible College of Wales in Swansea, Wales, now called Trinity School of Ministry which is now in Rugby, Warwickshire.
Taken from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rees_Howells
"It was from this position of power that Rees became a channel of revival in Southern Africa, and, on returning to Britain, a mighty spiritual force which many believe changed the course of World War II."
~~~ There is to me a satisfying twist that happens in the lives of Rees and his wife at the surrender of their son. Samuel grew up and joined his father in his ministry in Africa. Later Samuel, as stated above from Wikipedia: "became the Director of the Bible College of Wales." Samuel Rees Howells carried on his father's ministry. God knew this would happen ~~~Nancy.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isiah 55:8 9).)

"In December 1910, Rees Howells married and later he and his wife received a call to be missionaries. This would mean leaving their newly born son Samuel at home to obey this call. Samuel would grow-up to become an intercessor and the story of his life of intercession is told in the book Samuel Rees Howells: A Life of Intercession. For Rees and his wife, they left Samuel in Britain, and after this long and hard death experience they both left for Southern Africa."

My husband has a new experience to share. He told us about how he has been listening to a John Denver C.D. in his car... The words "you'd surely be a poor man, if you've never seen an eagle fly" were in one of the songs. He said to himself, "I must be a poor man, because I've never seen an Eagle fly." A couple of days after that, on the job - he and his co-workers saw an Eagle flying in the sky. He said to the other men, "Is that an Eagle?" It had a white head... and he indicated about 3 and a half foot tall, with his hand, if it were standing. It was massive. This is in the middle of the city, in the streets of Cleveland, in - Northern Ohio. The city streets, and my husband saw an Eagle fly! He's not a poor man now! ~~~Nancy

Losing A Pet Strengthens The Family Bonds ~~~Nancy

Death of a Beloved Pet Tightens the Family Bonds

The death of our family pet brings our family closer together ... tightens family bonds.  ... read more below ...

sara gurishs picture
Picture of our beautiful ~~~Sara P. Gurish
The P. stood for 'Pee' - She started out in life - peeing all over the floor! She stopped that, but kept the middle initial!

Everyone who has a pet knows that they are not just 'pets' - our charges become family members. My Sara (a.k.a.) Pearl (her YouTube name) - passed away yesterday. Her bowl is still in it's place by my order (I'm the mom). I said,"No one touches her bowl until I say so." It still has her water in it. We had to 'put Sara down' yesterday - that is what we call it in the U.S. when the doctor has to give your canine or feline a shot to put them to sleep, euthanasia is what it is. It absolutely

sucks. It is one of the more harsh realities of our lives. This is something 'we' have to do in order to be responsible parents of these little animals. I saw it that way: we had to see her from her beginning (which was the Animal Protective League) to the end...). This was part of what we signed on for, when we found her and took her home in 2002. This is March of 2015 - August 14 would have been Sara's 13th birthday. She had too many things wrong - and I had not enough time / ability - to tend to her difficulties. We had an older parent living in our home since this past October, and people have to come before our beloved pets. Sara's care went to the bottom of the totem pole with what was going on in our home. And, her physical health declined. I couldn't bring her for her morning walks - the winter - this harsh winter

The photo below is a view from our window: I'm sorry that it is sideways! ~~~Nancy

harsh cleveland ohio snow storm

also took a very hard toll on her and, on everyone in our home; heck, in the city and all the places that had such a harsh winter. It's just breaking up this week.

This is Pearl's (~~~Sara's) Singing Debut. She was a Media Darlin!

We lost another pet - Nikki - our beautiful Chow-Chow in May of 2011 I believe. From then on (we had Clyde too; who expired in about 2010). After Nikki - Sara was an 'only dog'.

This is a picture of our Nikki Belle with snow on her nose! She loved to dig her nose into the snow! ~~~Nancy

nikki gurishs picture

What comes about / came about, in our home from these experiences was that we have become, are becoming a closer family because of this. My husband left for work about a half hour ago - he asked me how I was, and we hugged each other .. I want to give you the idea of what goes on in the family. The three of us went with our Sara: we went as a family - as we did with our Nikki Belle, in May. We went together yesterday to have Sara come to the end of her life here on earth. We do well as a family. The three of us stood strong and tall for Sara; as we had with Nikki. Each of the veterinarians had to tell us - 'not to cry', each of them told us the importance of allowing for a peaceful passing; that your loved one, will sense if you are suffering and they will be uncomfortable. And that moment is all about them. I held Sara's head in my arms (I had cradled her head - like an infant - in life; and I held her head like that for her death). She was my little baby - especially after Nikki left.

This picture is from yesterday - while Sara was still at home ...

and I held her head like that for her death). She was my little baby - especially after Nikki left.

and

Sara

always thought that she was only as big as her head

. She never thought of, or knew - how large she was. She was a perpetual puppy - in my eyes and, I believed - in her eyes. She bounded like a puppy, up and down the back outside stairs - she ran up the inside stairs too: until just this past October. So, she was my little kid.. But, as a family - we will be closer for having her in our lives and for having to let her go. Our bonds are much tighter as a family.

[At the bottom - this page: You can see ~~~Sara's morning walk, she was so strong and healthy. That video was made in just August 2014.]

Our family has now loved three non-human charges, loving family members: Nikki, Clyde and Sara. Clyde was a feline (our grey cat). Clyde and I didn't necessarily see eye to eye; we had a different sort of relationship. He was very unique - he didn't die at home; he was put into the care of a friend, for the last half year of his life. Clyde went to live with a family friend who lived in the country. Clyde was fiercely independent, and needed his space and the ability to run. So we let him with our friend Bob. Bob took Clyde into his small cabin in the woods in Orwell, Ohio.

Nikki lived a long life for a Chow-chow. She didn't have hip dysplasia (which Chow-chows are known for), but she eventually had to leave this world - because of her hip. She could no longer get up; on her own steam. The vet could not put Nikki to sleep - she refused to go. He said that he never saw anything like that; her heart refused to stop. Nikki was a presence in our neighborhood; a cinnamon-colored Chow-chow - she looked fierce, and she guarded our home, our lives and our property for her entire life - and she didn't want to go. I told her that she could go... it took the vet several shots - directly into her heart to get her to go. We have been so blessed with our loving animals. They have been such good and loyal family members. And our family is better because of them. It is so painful - but the joys have far outweighed the pain.
There is a prayer for pets - and a Saint too: Saint Roach who's Feast Day is August 16 "...While ministering to the needs of the sick, Saint Roch became infected himself. It was his nature not to burden others and he stayed in a hovel. While he lay dying, a dog from a nearby villa found Saint Roch and brought a fresh roll from his master's house each day. The dog's owner noticed this strange behavior and ..." (... to this page ...)

This is a video from August 2014 of 'Pearl's Morning Run'. She was so strong and vital! And very beautiful, huh? Our Sara.... She started out as a little 'pound puppy' from the Cleveland Animal Protective League on Wiley Road. Sara's official birthday was August 14, 2002.

Emotional Health of the Family - Family Topics

After the injection from the vet, Sara's eyes closed... she went so peacefully. She didn't have to be afraid of falling any longer - her vision was bad and her hearing. Her legs got beaten up - on a wheelchair ramp that we had installed in November. She started to take falls off of that ramp - she just got too injured. She wasn't in pain now... she didn't have to worry about not being able to stand. Her legs shook when she stood, on the last day. She seemed to know it was time. She lost the gleam in her eyes; they were darkened. She wouldn't eat - wouldn't drink water, and she didn't get up - except to go outside. She, still went outside. Wincing with pain - she stood up to go outside. She was a wonderful 'little girl' to me. She was a beautiful dog; and a very happy forever young soul.

Goodnight little Sara... Mommy loves you. ~~~Nancy xo (a.k.a. ~~~Sara's mom).

What We Use - Night-Time Incontinence! ~~~Nancy

Hi! I said I'd be back and I haven't been back! Time is not on my side these days - at least, my time is not my own. I've got a parent living with me - thus... the last post about 'Night-time Incontinence'... thank you to the heavens that we have found a solution! A video will be in the making as soon as possible on this. One thing we use is 'Undergarments' (night time undergarments) purchased from a home health medical supplier: they have made all the difference in the world. Also, these sort of 'rubberised' over-pants - for wearing over the 'undergarment': they hold in the moisture in the pant. We also have purchased a washable mattress pad (two of them) one larger - and one smaller. And, what has really helped is a product by the Azo Brand - two of them. One is cranberry capsules that support urinary health the other is; 'Go Less'. An Azo product - that is natural support for urinating with more control. It has a pumpkin derivative in it; and a small amount of sodium. It actually worked the very first night. Thank you to the heavens! We are not washing all of the bedding any more! Look to urinary tract health - yeast in the urinary tract. That is what cranberry helps with! Blessings to you all! ~~~Nancy
